The client's request
Wilkhahn at Fuorisalone: a strategic presence in the Brera District through a curated gallery venue
A recognised name in contract seating and workplace furniture systems, Wilkhahn viewed Fuorisalone as an opportunity to reinforce its standing within the professional design community rather than simply exhibit product. Requirements were specific from the outset: a Brera District venue with street-level display windows, a contained floor area conducive to focused visitor engagement, and sufficient footfall potential to justify a ten-day activation. Scale was secondary to relevance. What mattered was placing the brand where the right conversations happen, in a setting that would reflect its design credentials without requiring elaborate explanation.

Scouting, operational management and integrated services: Location a Milano's approach for Fuorisalone
Location a Milano conducted a structured assessment of available spaces within the Brera District before presenting a shortlist to the client. The selected venue, an established art gallery with a strong local reputation, offered street-facing display windows with direct exposure to one of Fuorisalone's most frequented pedestrian routes, and an interior layout that channelled rather than dispersed visitor movement. Its cultural identity served as an implicit endorsement of Wilkhahn's positioning in the design sector. The scope of work extended well beyond venue identification: Location a Milano handled lease negotiation and execution, security provision across all three invitation-only evening events, daily maintenance to keep the space presentation-ready throughout the activation period, and the full permitting process for external advertising signage. The client retained no operational burden whatsoever.

Wilkhahn at Milan's Fuorisalone: positive outcomes across all strategic metrics
End-of-project evaluation confirmed that all primary objectives had been met. Visitor numbers across the ten-day period were consistent and, critically, skewed heavily towards industry professionals — architects, specifiers, distributors and interior designers active in the contract sector. This translated into meaningful brand exposure rather than generic footfall. The three evening receptions performed particularly well as business development tools: the combination of an intimate setting, a curated guest list and a venue that spoke directly to the brand's values created conditions well suited to substantive professional exchange.
